Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act
Customers, Consignors and Friends,
Have you heard about the new law affecting retailers and resalers?
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) will greatly reduce the amount of harmful chemicals contained within items intended for children 12 and under. This is good news! Right? Yes, everyone wants to know that a product they buy for their child is safe. But, the ambiguity of the law has left a lot of room for interpretation by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) who is responsible to enforce the law.
How does this affect All About Kids?
A recent press release from the CPSC outlined certain exceptions for resale of children’s items. All About Kids will continue to sell great clothing and toys, both new and resale! However, certain categories of items may be too difficult to evaluate against the CPSC recall and safety warning notices, and will not be sold. All About Kids has always complied with CPSC safety warnings and recalls and will carefully follow future developments with this new law.
